A
gold loan calculator
answers one question:
how much money can your gold get you?
Type in the weight in grams, pick the karat, and the
gold loan amount calculator
does the rest. It shows the maximum loan amount you are eligible for, your monthly EMI, and the interest you will pay by the end of the tenure.
IIFL Finance's
loan against gold calculator
fetches the day's gold rate for the purity you select and applies the LTV slab that matches your loan size, so the figure moves with the market. That live-rate approach matters for any
gold loan calculator India
offers, because gold prices here change every market day.
Select items and enter each jewellery weight and purity to compute total eligible loan.
Adjust annual interest rate and select interest payment frequency for instant estimates.
See monthly interest, total interest payable, and total repayment in real time.
This is an indicative estimate, not a loan offer. Your final amount is set after we check your gold at the branch.
IIFL Finance Limited is registered with the Reserve Bank of India as a non-banking financial company. For complaints, see our grievance redressal policy.
Your loan estimate from the
gold loan calculator online
takes a few minutes. Once you see your eligible loan amount and monthly EMI, you can apply online directly from
IIFL Finance Gold Loan page
or visit your nearest IIFL Finance branch with your gold jewellery.
Enter the weight of your gold jewellery in grams using the slider or type it directly.
Choose the karat: 18K, 20K, 22K, or 24K. Most household jewellery carries a BIS Hallmark and is 22 karats. The calculator applies the corresponding purity factor automatically.
Select your preferred repayment period in months. Tenure affects your monthly EMI and total interest payable, so compare options to find what fits your budget.
Working as a
gold loan rate of interest calculator,
the tool picks up the current gold rate for your purity and IIFL Finance's interest rate starting from 0.81% per month. No manual input is needed.
The
gold loan EMI calculator online
shows your eligible loan amount, monthly EMI, and total interest instantly. Apply online or visit any IIFL Finance branch to proceed.
The
gold loan calculation formula
works in two steps. First, your gold's market value is worked out from its net weight, purity, and the day's gold rate. Second, the eligible loan amount is that value multiplied by the LTV slab that applies to your loan size.
Step 1: Gold Value =
Net Weight (g) x Purity Factor x Current Gold Rate per gram
Step 2: Eligible Loan =
Gold Value x Applicable LTV Ratio
Take a simple case. You pledge 20 grams of 22 carat gold on a day when the rate is Rs 6,000 per gram. The gold is worth 20 x 6,000, which is Rs 1,20,000. That falls in the under Rs 2.5 lakh slab, so 85% LTV applies, and you can borrow up to Rs 1,02,000. This is what a
gold loan value calculator
does, just faster.
Example
Here is how the calculator's default state works out, for 50 grams of 22K gold at an indicative rate of Rs 9,000 per gram:
| Field | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Gold Value | Rs 4,50,000 | 50g x Rs 9,000 |
| Eligible Loan Amount | Rs 3,60,000 | 80% LTV applies (loan between Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 5 lakh) |
| Loan Per Gram | Rs 7,200 | Rs 3,60,000 / 50g |
| Monthly EMI (12 months) | Rs 31,965 | At 0.81% per month |
| Total Payable | Rs 3,83,580 | 12 x EMI |
Note: Figures are for illustrative purposes only. The actual amount may vary based on the gold rate, purity assessment, and applicable LTV on the date of application.
This May Vary LTV:
Current regulatory guidelines set the maximum LTV based on how big the loan is. Smaller loans get a higher LTV, so the same gold stretches further at lower ticket sizes.
| Loan amount | Maximum LTV |
|---|---|
| Up to Rs 2.5 lakh | 85% |
| Above Rs 2.5 lakh and up to Rs 5 lakh | 80% |
| Above Rs 5 lakh | 75% |
Note: This table is for illustrative purposes. The actual LTV applied may vary as per prevailing regulatory guidelines and the loan slab on the date of application.
Interest rate:
IIFL Finance's gold loan rates start from 0.81% per month (9.72% p.a.) and vary by scheme, loan amount, and tenure. Working as a
gold loan calculator interest tool, it applies the starting rate automatically; your final rate is confirmed in the loan agreement at the branch. It also doubles as a
gold loan interest calculator online,
showing your total interest for the tenure before you commit to anything. See the
Interest Rates and Charges page
for the full rate chart.
Gold rate and LTV applied by this calculator:
The calculator uses indicative daily rates for each purity (for example Rs 9,000 per gram for 22K on the date shown) and the tiered LTV slabs above, as mandated under the applicable gold loan framework. Rates update daily. Your branch confirms the exact rate at the time of appraisal.
Estimate how much to raise against household jewellery for emergencies, education, or home renovation.
Example: 20g at 22K ≈ ₹1,35,000
Calculate crop finance or equipment funding available against gold - no income proof required.
Example: 50g at 22K ≈ ₹3,37,500
Estimate working capital against business or personal gold before approaching a lender.
Example: 100g at 22K ≈ ₹6,75,000
Lenders value only the gold in your jewellery. Stones, diamonds, and other metals are set aside, and what remains is the net weight. A purity factor is then applied. Take a 20-gram 22 carat bangle. It is 91.6% pure, so only about 18.3 grams of it is actual gold, and your loan is built on that figure. Not sure about your gold purity? Look for the BIS Hallmark or ask for a karat meter test at the branch.
Purity changes the
gold loan per gram
too, as the table below shows.
| Gold Purity | Gold Content | Purity Factor | Approx. Loan Per 10 Grams |
|---|---|---|---|
| 24 Karat | 99.9% | 0.999 | Rs 50,949 |
| 22 Karat | 91.6% | 0.916 | Rs 46,716 |
| 20 Karat | 83.3% | 0.833 | Rs 42,483 |
| 18 Karat | 75.0% | 0.750 | Rs 38,250 |
Note: Figures are for illustrative purposes only, calculated at Rs 6,000 per gram and 85% LTV for loans within the Rs 2.5 lakh slab. The actual amount may vary based on the gold rate on the day of appraisal and the applicable LTV slab. Higher karat means more actual gold in the ornament, so the loan per gram rises with purity.
The gold rate is not arbitrary either. Valuation follows the lower of the 30-day average price or the previous day's declared benchmark price for the relevant purity, adjusted for the gold content. That is why the calculator's estimate and the branch figure stay close.

A trained appraiser evaluates the purity and weight of the pledged gold jewellery in your presence. The assessment considers the net gold content, excluding stones and other non-gold components, as applicable.
The eligible loan amount is determined based on the assessed gold value, applicable valuation methodology and prevailing loan-to-value (LTV) norms. The final sanction remains subject to document verification and lender assessment.
Once the appraisal, documentation and approval processes are completed, the loan amount is disbursed through the applicable payment mode in accordance with regulatory requirements and lender policy.
Regarding costs, all fees and charges are explained to you at the branch before you sign the agreement, and the same are listed on the IIFL Finance
Interest Rates and Charges page.

The gold loans have two ways you can pay them back. You can pay a bit every month, which is called equated monthly instalments or EMI. When you do this, you pay some of the money you borrowed and some interest every month.
The other way is called bullet repayment. With this you only pay the interest on the gold loan every month. Then when the loan is finished you pay back all the money you borrowed at one time. The gold loans work this way to give you options on how you want to pay them back. The gold loans are simple you. Pay a little bit of the gold loan every month or you pay the interest and then the whole gold loan, at the end.
Whether you search for a
gold loan EMI calculator
or an
EMI calculator gold loan
option, the maths behind the monthly figure is the same standard formula, and the
gold loan interest rate calculator
on this page applies it automatically.
EMI =
P x R x (1+R)^N / ((1+R)^N - 1)
P = Principal loan amount (Rs) | R = Monthly interest rate (annual rate / 12 / 100) | N = Loan tenure in months
| Step | Calculation |
|---|---|
| Identify the inputs | P = Rs 90,000; Annual Rate = 9.72% p.a., so R = 0.81% (0.0099); N = 12 months |
| Compute (1+R) ^N | (1.0099) ^12 = 1.1255 (approx.) |
| Apply the formula | EMI = 90,000 x 0.0099 x 1.1255 / 0.1255 = Rs 7,991 (approx.) |
| Total payable and interest | Total = 12 x Rs 7,991 = Rs 95,892 (approx.); Total Interest = Rs 5,892 (approx.) |
Note: Figures are for illustrative purposes only and rounded. The actual EMI depends on your sanctioned amount, applicable rate, and tenure, and is confirmed in your loan agreement. Actual amounts may vary.
Bullet repayment option:
Pay only the simple interest during the tenure and return the full principal at the end. Monthly outflows are lower than an EMI under this structure. Confirm eligibility with your nearest IIFL Finance branch at the time of application.
A gold loan calculator is a tool used to assess the value of your gold and determine the loan amount you can obtain based on the carat value of the pledged gold. The lender typically holds the applicant's gold jewelry as collateral or security until the loan is completely repaid.
Gold loan is calculated based on the actual market value of the pledged gold. A certain percentage of gold (maximum 75%) of the gold value is offered as loan to the applicant
Gold loan per gram is the amount given as loan for every gram of pledged gold. For example, if IIFL offers Rs 3,504 per gram rate and if you have 100 gms of gold, the offered loan amount will be Rs 3,50,400
The benefits of using a Gold Loan Calculator include estimated loan eligibility calculation, informed financial planning, and the ability to compare loan offers for the best terms.
The loan amount you can get per gram of gold depends on the
current gold price and the purity of your jewellery
. Lenders may offer
up to 75% of the gold’s value as a loan
, as per applicable LTV norms. You can use the
Gold Loan Calculator on the IIFL Finance website
to get an estimated loan amount.
Yes,
loan tenure may be adjusted depending on the lender’s policy and applicable guidelines
. Opting for a
shorter tenure can help reduce the overall interest payable
, making repayment more efficient.
Gold Loan interest payment depends on the loan amount, interest rate, and tenure. Higher loan amounts or interest rates increase interest payments, while longer tenure reduces them.
The IIFL Gold Loan calculator provides an accurate estimate based on your gold’s weight, purity, current gold rates, and LTV ratio.
The calculator assumes a gold purity of 18K or 22K for calculation accuracy. If your gold matches this, the estimate will be precise.
IIFL’s Gold Loan calculator is a free online tool available for public use.
It offers an indicative and fairly accurate estimate; however, the final loan amount is subject to actual gold valuation at the branch.
You can get a loan up to 75% of the market value of gold per gram, based on the current 30-day average rate of 22-carat gold.
The calculator uses current standard interest rates. You cannot customise the rate, but you can view interest payments based on the offered rates.
It applies mainly to 22-carat gold jewellery, as purity is assumed. Different purity levels might need adjusted calculations at the branch.
